On July 1, 1987, WFAN, the first sports talk radio station in the country, debuted in New York City. Thirty-two years later sports radio is alive and well and can be heard in cities across the U.S. The success of the format is centered around the facts that sports are live, they provide excitement, make listeners feel connected to the team and the team connected to the listeners.

In this edition, Erica Farber, President & CEO of the RAB speaks with David Halberstam, publisher of the Sports Broadcast Journal website.  They discuss the state of broadcast sports and why radio will always play an important role.
